Health
and Safety Projects Near Completion in Keansburg Schools
Keansburg,
NJ - Structural repairs and electrical upgrades throughout the
Keansburg school district are expected to be complete by the end of
February benefitting the health and safety of the district's school
children.
Circle-A Construction
Company, Inc. was contracted by the Economic Development Authority for
$4.277 million in repairs to Keansburg High School, Bolger Middle School,
Port Monmouth, and Caruso Elementary School. The health and safety renovations
include roofing, fire alarm, emergency lighting, windows, structural
and mechanical upgrades.
Under
the Educational Facilities Construction and Financing Act, the EDA is
responsible for the construction and financing of all eligible school
projects in New Jersey's 30 special needs ("Abbott") districts and in
all districts receiving at least 55% in state education aid.
Approximately one-year
ago more than 400 health and safety projects with estimated construction
costs of approximately $600 million were transmitted by the Department
of Education for the EDA to package, design and undertake construction.
Design services have been procured for repairs valued at about $1billion,
and over $40 million is now undergoing or nearly finished construction.
