The Regional Alliance for Small Contractors Honor EDA with
"Partnerships That Work" Award

Trenton, NJ (May 2, 2002) - The Regional Alliance for Small Contractors (RASC) presented Caren S. Franzini, Executive Director, New Jersey Economic Authority (EDA) with its "Partnerships that Work" Award. Nearly 300 construction industry representatives attended the awards breakfast which recognized nine organizations and their captains whose actions have had a major impact on small, minority and women contractor opportunity. Ms. Franzini accepted the award on behalf of the EDA pledging continued commitment in providing opportunities to small, minority and women business enterprises. The EDA stimulates business development and job creation throughout the State and is responsible for all financial and construction elements of New Jersey's $8.6 billion school construction program.

The primary objective of the Regional Alliance for Small Contractors is assisting the growth of small, minority and women-owned business enterprises in construction and related industries. The Alliance is currently assisting EDA with a Contractors Assistance Program. This program is comprised of a four-week course tailored to contractors interested in expanding their companies and becoming classified to work on the State's school construction program.
