The Northern Regional Office is located at 1 Garret Mountain Plaza, Suite 200 in the PNC Bank Building in West Paterson. The Northern Regional Office is the third satellite the SCC has opened to better serve individual school districts by situating wide-ranging services closer to areas where the construction is actually taking place. Other regional centers were opened recently in Newark and Jersey City to augment the SCC home office in Trenton.

"These regional sites are representative of the SCC's ongoing commitment to meet the needs of our school districts for the benefit of their students, staff and the community at large," remarked Jack Spencer, new CEO New Jersey Schools Construction Corporation.

Spencer lauded the vision of Alfred McNeill - the original CEO of SCC who is retiring after successfully guiding the school construction program for the past 14 months - for initiating theplacement of regional offices in strategically significant areas.

"These sites were chosen precisely because they represent the bulk of the work that is to take place in the upcoming year," Spencer noted. "By locating each office in the heart of our most active school construction sites, we are able to monitor the progress of the building projects and spending activities more closely, quickly and efficiently."

Individuals who staff each office will be responsible for project management, design and construction review and oversight, affirmative action, land acquisition and feasibility assessments, property management, district communications and outreach. The offices will not only provide a base of operations for SCC staff and other representatives assigned to projects in the region, it will also serve to receive bids and accommodate design presentation by architectural, engineering and construction management firms.
