The event featured an Open House and tour of the new 123,768-square-foot four-story structure. The Main Street School’s new classrooms are providing educational opportunities for approximately 600 Kindergarten through 8th grade students, and include 2 state-of-the-art media centers. The project includes an underground parking garage for the teachers and staff of the new Main Street Elementary School, the first of its kind in the State. |

The SCC provided $21.1 million in funding and oversaw construction of the new school in the North Jersey municipality as part of the state’s school construction program. The Main Street School has community features that allow public access to the cafeteria, media centers, and gymnasium after hours for public use. In addition, the school is equipped with an emergency power generator and can serve as a shelter for the community in times of need. |

| "The addition of this new K-8 school in the City of Orange Township is representative of New Jersey’s continued commitment to our children. We are living up to our most important obligation by providing 21st century facilities to ensure every child has the opportunity to get the education they deserve and the skills necessary to start school," said SCC CEO John F. Spencer.
