SCC, Long Branch School District Hold 'Beam Signing' at New $70.4 Million High School

Long Branch, NJ (August 1, 2005) - Long Branch School District and New Jersey Schools Construction Corporation (SCC) held a beam-signing to mark the progress of construction of the new Long Branch High School. Students signed their names on a steel beam to be hoisted into place to become a permanent part of the $70.4 million school.

The 292,000-square-foot, 4-story high school will serve 1,200 students in grades 9 through 12. The new school is scheduled to open its doors in 2006. It is replacing the current high school, which was originally built in 1924.

The project is being fully funded and managed by the SCC. DLR Group Architecture & Engineering, PC is the design firm for the project. Gilbane Building Company is the project management firm and Hunt Construction Group, Inc. is the general contractor.
