Neptune Twp. District Celebrates Expansion
Of Green Grove Elementary School

Addition, Renovations Will Benefit Over 500 Students

Neptune Twp., NJ (November 17, 2005) - A newly completed addition and renovations to Green Grove Elementary School were dedicated today by representatives of the Neptune Township School District and New Jersey Schools Construction Corporation (SCC). Students, parents, teachers and community leaders attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony and toured the facility, which is part of a district-wide expansion program in this Monmouth County township.

The new 21,700-square-foot addition to the school on Green Grove Road includes classrooms, a cafetorium and a gym. Renovations to an existing 36,000-square-foot area include new ceilings, lighting and air-conditioning. The expanded facility accommodates 530 students in Kindergarten through 5th grades. The $10 million project was funded and managed by the SCC.

David Crutcher, SCC Communications Director, praised the many dedicated people who worked hard to make this project a reality, including members of the Neptune Board of Education, former Superintendent Michael Lake, current Superintendent David Mooij and Mayor Thomas Catley. The project was designed by the SSP Architectural Group of Somerville and built by Imperial Construction Group of Elizabeth. Gilbane managed the project for the SCC.

"We at the SCC are proud to have been able to play a part in this project. Along the way, all involved have built something truly memorable - something you can't measure in mere bricks and mortar - a very bright tomorrow for the children of Neptune Township," Crutcher said.

Officials said the Green Grove School project marked another major step toward completing plans to renovate and expand every school facility within the district and build two new schools. Projects already completed by the SCC in the district's $200 million five-year plan also include the Neptune Middle School, Gables Elementary School, Neptune Early Childhood Center, Neptune High School Annex and Shark River Hills Elementary School.
