"While the Division of Law is the official legal representative of SCC, and all state agencies and departments, it is clear we need corporate legal services to provide expertise in construction law matters," Scott Weiner, SCC Transitional CEO, said in announcing Clark's appointment.
At Lowenstein for the past 10 years, Clark practiced construction law and litigation, advising private and institutional owners in all facets of the development and construction process. He has long represented Rutgers University, providing advice on the design and construction of a variety of academic, athletic, laboratory and student housing projects. His other clients included Jersey City Medical Center, which he served during the construction of its new hospital.
Prior to his legal career, Clark gained executive experience serving as vice president of Stuart Dean Co, Inc. in New York City during the 1980s. He gained hands-on construction management experience as a Project Manager with Teitelbaum Holdings LTD, overseeing the construction of several large renovation projects.
Clark earned his J.D. from Rutgers University School of Law-Newark in 1996 and his B.A. with honors in Political Science and Philosophy in 1993 from Rutgers University-Newark, where he also was Phi Beta Kappa. He is admitted to practice in state and federal courts in New Jersey and New York.
Weiner noted Clark's appointment continues the process of creating an SCC legal team that began with the hiring of attorney Scott Guibord, who handles internal legal work and corporate governance issues. Guibord also serves as Corporate Secretary.
