Students, parents and residents, along with state and local officials, were on hand for a ribbon-cutting ceremony and tours of the addition to the one-story high school at Route 130 and Market Street in this Camden County community. The event was held in conjunction with a Red Cross Blood Drive, school registrations and Family Fun Day.
The 27,000-square-foot addition accommodates the much-needed additional classroom space. Other work includes upgrades to HVAC and electrical and fire alarm systems, new restrooms and replacement of the roof, windows, doors, boiler and auditorium seating.

Jerry Murphy, SCC Chief Operating Officer, noted the high school project received extraordinary support from district, city and state officials in order to become a reality.
"They also helped build something you can't measure in mere bricks and mortar - namely, a very bright tomorrow for the students of Gloucester City," Murphy said.
Superintendent Mary T. Stansky said, "The district is pleased to finally provide adequate facilities at the high school. This has been a long time coming, but today is certainly reason to celebrate."
