Introduction

In order to assist Consultants and Contractors find complementary SDA Pre-Qualified Consultants and Contractors to prepare for contract Bids (Requests for Pricing) and fulfill contractual obligations, SDA has placed our Pre-Qualification database online for general access.

This database has an easy to use application that will display Consultants and Contractors that are currently Pre-Qualified and approved by SDA along with their specific work qualifications.

Finding Directory Search feature on the SDA Web Site

SDA Directory Search is available on the "Home" page under "Contractors & Vendors" located on the left-hand side navigation bar.

1. Open your Internet Explorer

2. Enter the SDA URL (http://www.njsda.gov/)

3. Once "Contractors & Vendors" is selected from the left-hand side navigation bar, the "Contractors & Vendors" page will appear, as-well-as a drop-down menu containing the "Directory/Search" option to find Consultants and/or Contractors pre-qualification information. At this point select the “Directory/Search” option.

4. Once "Directory/Search" is selected from the left-hand side navigation bar, the Directory/Search page will appear and searches can be launched from this page.

How to use this Directory

The DIRECTORY SEARCH MAIN PAGE allows the user to view information regarding all Consultants and Contractors pre-qualified with the SDA, retrieve specific Consultant and/or Contractors based on specific criteria, or retrieve information on one Consultant or Contractor.

Please note: To expedite retrieval of data for all Consultants and Contractors it is best to use MS Internet Explorer 5.0 or higher or Netscape Navigator 6.1 or higher.

Submitting Requests using Search Criteria

Multiple search criteria are available to define the list of information to be viewed. The user can select one or more Qualifications, Disciplines, Location (NJ County or State), and/or Small Business Enterprise (SBE),Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) and Women Business Enterprise (WBE) certification. Qualifications relate to the type of Consultant or Contractor and Disciplines relate to specific types of work done by the Consultant or Contractor.

To perform a search using search criteria:

Choose the Qualification by highlighting the category to be searched

Click on By Code (displays Disciplines by DCA Code) or By Name (displays Disciplines by name, followed by DCA Code). The menu of disciplines that apply to the Qualification selected will display.

Click on appropriate Discipline. Note: for multiple Disciplines, highlight the first Discipline and hold down the Control Key "Ctrl" while selecting the other Disciplines.

Select the Budget range, if applicable. The dollar amounts are provided in drop down boxes.

Select the Business Enterprise designation. Can search all SBE categories or make multiple selections.

Click on SEARCH button.

Directory Search Data Sets & Record Return

The SDA directory search returns the requested information in a separate results page and allows users to review the data online or download to MS Word or MS Excel for off line use. (Netscape Navigator users are able to download record sets which are 1000 records or less.)

In order to export the data to Excel and save it to a local or network disk drive click on the Export to Excel button.

In order to export the data to Excel and save it to a local or network disk drive click on the Export to Excel button.

The File Download pop up below will appear.

Directory Search by Firm Name

A user can also search the SDA directory by a particular pre-qualified Consultant or Contractor Company name. The user can enter a portion of a vendors name or the full name in the Search by Firm Name field. (A portion of a name, means a contiguous string of alphanumeric characters.)

This feature does not require the selection of Qualifications or other criteria. However, by selecting specific Qualifications or other criteria you will limit the number records of records returned.

Example 1: Using Search By Firm Name

Example below displays a search on all currently Pre-qualified firms that contain at least one A/E & Consulting Qualification AND also contains the contiguous characters "new jersey" in their name.

In order to perform the query result listed below

Highlight the A/E & Consulting Qualification

Enter the characters or name "new jersey" in the Search By Firm Name field. (The database is NOT case sensitive and does not distinguish between upper and lower case characters.)

Click on the Search button

Example below displays a search on all currently Pre-qualified firms that contain the contiguous characters "new jersey" in their name.
