SCC Working Group Releases Report To Governor

Trenton, NJ (March 15, 2006) - Governor Jon S. Corzine's Interagency Working Group released its initial report, which recommended major operational and programmatic reforms that are considered necessary to move the school construction program forward.

The Working Group, which was created on February 7 in Executive Order 3, was charged with giving a full review of the SCC. The group included Special Counsel and transitional CEO Scott Weiner, who chaired the panel, SCC Chairman Barry L. Zubrow, Acting Education Commissioner Lucille Davy, Assistant Education Commissioner Gordon MacInnes, Special Assistant to the DOE Commissioner Donna Arons, DCA Commissioner Susan Bass Levin, Director of DCA's Division of Codes Bill Connolly and Treasurer Bradley Abelow.

The Working Group is seeking input from a Citizen Advisory Panel and will release another report on May 15, 2006 that will focus on the implementation of these findings as well as recommendations for future funding and legislative changes.
