April 2008 marks the CTTP’s sixth year of implementation. We have made a number of changes in the program based on lessons learned and changing industry needs. Some of the key changes include:
- Implementation on a countywide basis in line with union structure
- Setting more efficient budgets allowing for more grants to rollout
- Setting more realistic goals and expanding positive outcomes allowing more grants to be successful
- Establishing a set number of training hours to mimic apprenticeship requirements
- Limiting number of training cycles providing for more comprehensive learning
